Cervical Problems & Low Back Pain

I have been a patient of Dr. Hejny for about one year. I walked into his office crooked, in pain and in tears. After a few visits I was standing more erect. After a few more visits I stand straight and have no pain. There is no rough, manual adjusting. The level of care and concern here is amazing. This cervical atlas adjustment technique really works. I had low back pain and was quite sure I had no neck problems. The x-rays showed cervical problems. Dr. Hejny did a thorough assessment prior to any relief care. After about a week after the initial evaluation I was rescheduled to discuss relief options. I have been faithful to follow up as he advised. I am still straight, remain pain free and can now be more active. I take no pain medications, no physical therapy, no steroid injections, and no surgical procedures. Dr. Hejny has been a blessing to me in restoring health and pain free living. I referred a friend to him who has had a similar excellent result, with no surgery needed, as was discussed by another medical doctor. Why not give Dr. Hejny a try?

Neck Pain Due to Car Accident

My name is Pam E. and I have been a patient of Dr. “J” ( Dr. Justin Hejny) for over 2 years. When I first came to him , I was having severe neck pain. I had been in a head -on car accident when I was 40 years old and I guess it had taken its toll.

My life changed after I came to see Dr. “J”…He has kept me comfortable and my head “on straight” and my whole life has improved greatly…he is my “lifeline”. He has a gentle and soothing touch and a confidence that you can trust completely…he really cares for his patients and works very hard to make them feel their best. He has helped my back, my knees, my tennis “elbow” and my neck and shoulders…I do not think there has ever been a time when I haven’t been relieved of my discomfort after visiting him.

Bulging Disc in Neck

I was having severe neck pain along with shoulder, arm pain and hand numbness. I had been to an orthopedic expert that diagnosed a bulging disc in my neck. I was having sleeping difficulties as well as I was having trouble driving a car. This was especially a problem since I drive 30k miles a year for my job.

As an alternative to my orthopedist, a friend recommended I visit with Dr. Hejny. In meeting Dr. Hejny, he said that while he could not guarantee the results of the relief care 100%, that if I completed the relief care recommended, I would see significant improvement in 2 to 3 months.

His feedback became reality in that exact timeframe. Now I am driving a car without pain, playing golf and jogging again. I highly recommend Dr. Hejny’s service and expertise.

Whiplash After 2 Auto Accidents

I heard of Dr. Hejny from another chiropractor who has been working with me since 2006. I have had many conditions/symptoms for which I have sought relief care. I have had 2 auto accidents/whiplash 1 1/2 years ago about 30 days apart and lost my “core” strength that set me up for a fall and ankle break. Also prior to all of that I had pneumonia, mold allergies and food allergies with a “sick” work place – deep cough that hurt my throat, muscles in my neck and diaphragm. My other chiropractor also had awesome supplements and referrals to acupuncture and message and reflexology – all helped but none “fixed” my posture or unstable gait. My auto insurance has spent over $20,000 over the last 4 years on these relief care and I have spent over $15,000 out of my pocket on traditional medicine, insurance does not pay for these relief care. It has been worth it to move me further towards health.

I had just completed “core” strength training when I had the opportunity (and support from another, non upper cervical spine doctor) to consult with Dr. Hejny. From the onset Dr. Hejny found areas that would trigger the hacking, throat irritating cough. With a few touched areas he explained the process. I came in for x-rays and then my 1st visit on Tuesday. Today is friday and I cannot believe the positive changes. 1st I feel solid in gait, in posture and general movement after the 1st session. Today, after a few refined small adjustments the cough, that has been an issue since 2006, is mostly gone – (I had held the adjustment from Tuesday) specifically when my right thoracic area is touched no cough is triggered. Also, the muscles of my neck and right shoulder are not tense, sore etc.

I am looking forward to see how much further the impressing technique and doctor bring my health. I was expecting to have to deal with major loss of function going into retirement and now I believe that loss will be reversed for many years to come.

Chronic, Constant Neck Pain

“Yeah, right.”

That was my first thought when Dr. Hejny said he could help my neck. I was there for a free massage at the craft show! I have a massage once a week, and I’ve seen chiropractors for about 10 years now. I have lived with chronic, constant neck pain for over 30 years. My x-rays showed a lot of dysfunction, and an amazing reverse curve. There’s arthritis and degeneration.

After Dr. Hejny did the math – better him than me – he adjusted my atlas. I’d never heard of an atlas! At any rate, once was all it took. I am consistently pain free in my neck and back. I go back for tune-ups. You cannot imagine the new lease on life I feel. You cannot imagine living with no pain for the first time in 30 years. For real. The minimal cost is worth everything. I am a true believer in what Dr. Hejny does.

Headaches, Lower Back Pain, Degeneration of the Spine

“I HAVEN’T HAD A HEADACHE IN 3 MONTHS! I never believed that could be true, as headaches have been a major part of my life for most of my adult life. Over the past three years or so, I had headaches almost every day – so much that I was taking 600 mg of ibuprofen two-three times a day almost every day. I thought headaches were normal, especially for someone like me with a stressful job. For me, no headaches is a miracle!

Believe it or not, I actually didn’t seek out Dr. Hejny because of headaches. In March 2014 I woke up one morning with the worst lower back pain I’ve ever had. It was radiating pain that was so bad I could hardly get out of bed – and I didn’t know why. I’m so thankful I found Dr. Hejny, who is an expert in Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic. Dr. Hejny saw me the very day that I called. He was able to give me some major relief that day, but my real healing began when he adjusted my atlas (the first bone in the spine) the next Monday. I’ve been going to chiropractors since I was in a major car accident at age 17 when I almost went through the windshield head first. I’ve had many chiropractors work on my back, but Dr. Hejny is the first one who identified that my atlas was way out of place and that the rest of my spine could never really heal until it was fixed. My debilitating pain that morning in March was from years of degeneration of my entire spine from that car accident. My head was actually on very crooked!

Words can’t express how much better I feel, how much stronger I feel every day, and how amazing it is not to have headaches (what a great side effect of getting my atlas adjusted)! Dr. Hejny is compassionate, dedicated, caring and most of all really great in his specialized area. I am his biggest fan because of how he has helped me!

Excruciating Pain & Lower Back Problems

I first saw Dr Hejny six weeks ago. At that time I was in a world of pain. I had excruciating pain in my jaw joint, couldnʼt finish a meal without crying. I had reduced all my food to the very softest variety for over a month to avoid additional jaw pain, and could not eat anything cold or hot without creating severe tooth pain, radiating across all my teeth. I hadnʼt had ice cream for two months! I was beginning to miss work, and my husband was picking up the slack while I cried in bed during the times while I usually cook or do laundry, and put my child to bed.

My dentist told me that my teeth were healthy, so that wasnʼt the problem; he suggested I reduce my stress levels. Not helpful advice since the main stress in my life was this pain! My TMJ expert recommended that I start physical therapy, and adjusted my splint, but that didnʼt help either. Many aspects kept getting worse: my neck and shoulders were also very tight, jumpy, and I had jaw, face, and neck muscle spasms.

Dr Hejny assessed my situation, and thought that he could help me. He took x-rays, and created a plan for relief. The main adjustment that he did was highly measured, and very soft (almost couldnʼt feel it) to my top vertebra. Just a day later I was feeling so much better as the pain subsided. Wow! Two weeks later, I could eat easily, and even started eating harder foods, as well as hot and cold foods.

Today those symptoms have all fully subsided. Not only that, but Dr Hejny has helped improve some other long-standing problems with my lower back. I appreciate the way he really takes the time to educate me about my own spinal situation, and path to improved alignment.

Thanks to Dr Hejny at Hejny Chiropractic for my return to health! I had so much fun telling all my friends and family over Thanksgiving break about my huge turn-around. They are also relieved and thankful too.
